Facebook and Twitter are great channels that companies can use to reach new audiences and participate in two-way interactions with consumers. The people who are conversing with you on these platforms are obviously showing they are interested in your products and services. This is a very good reason to get their information and add them to your email list. By doing this you can forge deeper relationships with them by offering more personalized and targeted content than you ever could via social media alone. Here are some tips on how you can use your social media platforms to make your email list larger:
- Start by increasing the number of your followers and fans. There are several ways you can do this; first, make sure that all your appropriate pieces of communication have your social badges and links on them. Second, you can create contest or sweepstakes and direct people to your Facebook page to participate.
- Use a web form to convert fans into subscribers. Dedicate a permanent tab on your Facebook account to a Web form that people can complete to join your email list, and tweet a link to your form on Twitter. To grow your lists quickly, offer incentives for filling out the form.
- Create a social promotion or sweepstakes. Sweepstakes, voting contests, and trivia campaigns engage followers, and they also allow you to add them to your email list for being able to enter the contest.
- Create referral programs. An example would be, type out 10 friends’ email addresses you would like to send this offer to and receive 20% off your next order. It’s a great way to get a large of emails at once.
Have you used your social platforms to help increase your email list? If so, what did you do?
